To seek comfort is a natural human behavior. No one wants to hurt. Old habits, illnesses and injuries can make it difficult for you to do the things you enjoy doing. Maybe you think pain is a natural part of getting older. Maybe you believe you will never feel as good as you used to feel. With over a decade of experience in movement therapy and education I know I can help you become aware of the difficult to sense movement habits and self-limiting patterns of behavior that keep you from moving well and feeling good.  I can help you bring your best use of self to whatever challenges you are facing in your life.

To seek a heightened state of consciousness is a universal drive. We are wired to look for and find meaning in our lives, to acknowledge and be awed by beauty in the world and to utilize our full potential. Unhelpful belief systems and well- practiced means of restricting our natural ways of moving and being can make pleasure, satisfaction and ease seem impossible.  I use gentle movement and directed attention to help you re-discover your possibilities.  It is possible for you to move well. It is possible for you to be happy. It is possible for you to expand your awareness and open yourself to recognizing and creating the life you want to live.

To seek satisfying connections is to be on the path of self-realization. It is through relationship with others that we come to know our Self. How you relate to everything around you from your partner to your desk chair to the ever-present force of gravity will reinforce your beliefs about who you are and determine how you prepare yourself for being in the world. When our styles of relating are rigid and restricting, it becomes difficult for us to find authentic expression in action.  We move in the only way we know how. We relate in ways that are familiar even if they are not fulfilling.  As we work together you will learn to listen to yourself, to observe yourself without judgement and to make movement and behavioral choices based on what feels good to you.  You will practice relating to your Self and your environment in ways that are comfortable and easy for you.  And in the words of Moshe Feldenkrais you will learn to,  “trust yourself to work out what is right for you.”
